(Image sourced from https://thepawprintdaa.com/2016/05/31/star-trek-beyond-fan-event/ )   Space, the final frontier. We’ve followed the misadventures of various crews of various ships of the United Federation for 50 years now. And with this huge mile stone for the franchise comes a big explosive movie to celebrate legacy of the franchise, and to continue its voyage into even more perilous situations and mysterious lands. (Video sourced from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hh-NtlJwcME ) The story of Star Trek Beyond takes place some years into the Star Ship Enterprises’ 5 year voyage through the unknown vastness of space. With such a long journey Captain Kirk (Chris Pine), is left feeling lost and wondering if what he is doing is the right fit for him, or if a change is needed. But before he can ponder on about his midlife crisis the Enterprise is attacked, leaving Kirk and the rest of his colourful crew stranded on a unknown world, chased by the villainous Krall (Idri...

(Image sourced from http://www.godisageek.com/2015/06/podcast-e32015-day1/ )   Oh it’s the most wonderful time of the year, its gamer heaven, gamer Christmas, it’s like all our dreams and hopes are flung on screen for the world to cheer at, it’s time for my sleeping pattern to be put way off base because I live in England and apparently America doesn’t want to accommodate for the time difference but what the hell it’s a highlight of the year. Yes, it’s freakin’ E3! This year’s showing of games from the conference has genuinely been a surprise and delight to see unfold as my eyes were transfixed on my phone’s small and my laptop’s reasonably sized screen. In each and every conference there was something to woop, toot and scream in pure glee at, sure some conferences had more of these moments than others, and some had very uncomfortable and very cringe worthy moments to boot too; but overall this definitely was not a year to miss or skim over. But I know, sometimes there...

(Image sourced from http://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-will-release-in-june-2016-leaked-poster-reveals/ ) Multiplayer only games never really interested me in anyway shape or form, I’m more of a story guy, and the only multiplayer game I have ever owned is the newest Star Wars Battlefront because, well it’s STAR WARS. So when I first heard about Overwatch I dismissed it as just another League of Legends trying to make hero based games big on console. But then Blizzard started releasing Pixar-esque shorts about the universe and characters of the game that were crammed with badass action, charm and buckets full of love-able personality. Still sceptical I then researched into what the game actually would be and found a rather loud and unstoppable wanting for the game begin to root itself into my thoughts. So on launch day I went down to my local game shop and as I passed over the money for the game with halted breath at the till I hoped and prayed that I hadn’t just waited m...

(mage sourced from http://www.polygon.com/2016/3/3/11153454/doom-2016-reversible-box-art-id-software-bethesda ) In 2014 BJ Blazkowicz made a very bloody and quite triumphant return to our consoles and showed us all what real gun toting action is like, old school style. Not satisfied with his showing of macho curb-stomping and bullet hurling though, now Doom-guy is back in the blood stained saddle to show the industry what a real balls to the wall, fist through your face, explosive body chunk sprinkle should really look like with the simply and appropriately titled, DOOM. (Video sourced from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6BbvCC0VI0 ) The story of DOOM is a thin order that allows you to get straight to it and ruin some bad-things day as you awake amidst a demonic invasion of Mars. Basically there are demons knocking at your front door, what are you going to do, obliterate them with your trust super shotgun of course! While there is back story to be found in the g...

(Image sourced from https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2015/12/23/uncharted-4-a-thiefs-end-now-launches-on-27th-april-2016/ ) A journey that began 9 years ago, a journey full f ruined but precious lost cities, curses that would make your skin crawl or even infect and twist the best of us, a journey full of danger, gun fire, and badly constructed bridges, a journey full of love, loss and betrayal, a journey full of phenomenally realised and acted characters, and more hilarious one liners than I can count; that journey has finally come to an end, and boy am I sad to see it go. (Video sourced from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNDGQMz1fJQ ) The story of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End sees Nathan Drake, after going through countless trials by fire, ice and even a flood or two, in search of the world’s finest treasure has finally found his in the form of a normal life with his wife and long-time adventurer Elena. But when Nate’s long lost brother, Sam, bursts back into his li...

(Image sourced from https://wall.alphacoders.com/by_sub_category.php?id=238809 ) We’ve had the Son of Krypton Vs the Bat of Gotham. We’ve had the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen Vs the Unstoppable Force that is the Punisher. And we’ve had Deadpool Vs, well everyone. Now the Marvel Cinematic Universe is being ripped in two as it too sees its heroes at each other’s throats, with the formidable Team Ironman facing off against the Righteous Team Cap. Seriously, villains, you might as well just take this year off, recuperate and finally get out of that damn chair Thanos! (Video Sourced from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKrVegVI0Us ) The story of Captain America Civil War the heroes of the MCU that we have all come to love come under scrutiny by the government. While they have saved a butt ton of lives; the undeniable catastrophic destruction they constantly leave in their wake is an issue that cannot be ignored anymore. With this in mind the governments of the world want to put the Av...
