(Image sourced from http://bitcoinist.com/bitcoins-forecasts-for-2016/ ) 2016 is pretty much done. We came, we saw, in a lot of ways we faltered, but in the end we conquered. And while what was happening out in the real world wasn’t always the funniest or nicest thing, there was a heck of an amount of entertainment for us to escape and loose ourselves in to remind us everything is going to be okay, because if Ryan Reynolds can still smile after becoming a living testicle, so can I. And with that comes list time once again. What were the Top 5 movies that thrilled, amazed, and touched us the most? I think I have an idea. (Image sourced from http://bloody-disgusting.com/the-further/3397242/marvels-captain-america-civil-war-comes-home-video-september/ ) 1.     Captain America: Civil War Did you expect anything different? Of course Captain America: Civil War is at the top of my list. Simply put, it’s an almost perfect comic book movie that had astounding visuals, intense actio

The Top 5 Games of 2016 IBRO [In BurtonReviews Opinion]

(GIF sourced from http://www.radionz.co.nz/news/national/295036/2016-what-lies-ahead ) It’s Christmas time once again, and with that another year is rounding to a close; meaning all the big releases of the year have already come and either gone with the wind, left a lingering presence in your mind, or stayed with you for months now because just one more Overwatch match is never enough. But with it being the end of the year, that also means we all need to get our thinking caps on and arbitrarily slap the best games of the year together in a list and rank them against eachother. Have no idea where to start in a year crammed with explosive sequels, world-wide phenomena’s, and that period of literally a new AAA shooter a week. Well never fear because BurtonReviews has compiled a list from it’s very, very, very, some would argue too extensive time researching just which game should make the cut and go down in history as 2016 virtual bangers of the year. BurtonReviews Rogue One A Star Wars Story: The Prequel We Deserve?

Image
(Image sourced from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlN2U6zaztY ) Star Wars prequels. That term can muster a great response of hatred, pain and an unbelievably potent aversion to sand from people across the globe. The trek into the history of Star Wars’ past has been a rocky, and mostly turbulent course of action that has broken many fans hearts, and turned the rest firmly to the dark side. But now with Star Wars in the hallowed hands of our supreme overlords at Disney; will the pairing of the words ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Prequel’ finally not lead to fear, anger, hate and suffering; or are we destined to be trapped in this insidious loop of prequel torment. (vIDEO SOURCED FROM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frdj1zb9sMY ) The Star Wars Story of Rogue One takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, (the fourth or first Star Wars movie depending on how you stand in this war on continuity), and shows just how the rebels got their hands on the plans to the biggest, ba

Spider-Man Homecoming Trailer released: Thwips and Quips

Image
(Image sourced from http://www.darkhorizons.com/first-spider-man-homecoming-poster-online/ )   Marvel fans rejoiced this past Thursday night as the first trailer for the highly anticipated Spider-Man Homecoming was debuted by the latest in a long line of Peter Parkers, Tom Holland, on Jimmy Kimmel Live . (Video sourced from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlRRXVP5y3M )   The official YouTube trailer at the time of writing has over 14 million views and over 200 thousand likes. The film will not only follow the Spider-Man that endearingly stole our hearts in this year’s explosive blockbuster, Captain America Civil War , but will also be the character’s first solo movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), as the wall-crawler is back home and in the trusty hands of Marvel Studios. And highlighting Spider-Man’s rightful inclusion in the ever-growing universe of the MCU is Robert Downey Jr’s appearance as Tony Stark/Ironman in the film. Looking to be continuing his ment

Image
(Image sourced from http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/11/28/playstation-experience-2016-the-complete-guide/ )   And just when you thought convention season was over, PlayStation smacks you in the face with a hefty hour conference from their third annual PlayStation centred convention: PlayStation Experience, or PSX if you’re snazzy. But it is almost Christmas time and many of you may be busy sprinting from shop to shop with no clue what to get that special someone the perfect gift that they clearly and rather bluntly hinted at all year round, but you zoned out and are now as clueless as a goldfish in a nuclear fission lecture. But don’t worry, your good old friend BurtonReviews has you covered with the top 5 moments of the show. And boy were there many, many, many incredible moments of the conference. Even though it only lasted slightly over an hour, Sony sure crammed in a wallet breaking number of games in such a short time. With last year’s conference being a lacklustre show

BurtonReviews Arrival: Are We There Yet?

Image
(Image sourced from https://trailers.apple.com/trailers/paramount/arrival/ ) Denis Villeneuve’s (director of Prisoners and Sicario ) next film, Arrival, has been shrouded in a fog of secrecy and intrigue. From the tantalising trailers, all you could get the sense of was that this film would be an intriguing and grounded take on Earth’s first contact with the great beyond. And oh boy did this film deliver on that suspicion and so much more. (Video sourced from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooQ3tmUl6-0 )   Without giving too much away, as the trailers hardly gave us anything; Arrival documents the human race’s first contact with extra-terrestrial life through the eyes of linguistic expert Dr. Louise Banks, Amy Adams (the current Louis Lane of the DC Cinematic Universe), and her team of America’s best and brightest as they try and discover just why these aliens have come to our little slice of the universe.    While you may be thinking the trope of first contact is co
